Ye Sung-ah is a Korea's youngest lieutenant commander. He hears about a white beast appearing in Area 17. He hears that his soldiers got hurt and still caught the white beast, so he goes to see the beast. The beast was a child, and Sung-ah got attacked by this white beast, but still he brings the little boy to his room and names him Huibaek (which means white since the boy was white. Not as a race. He is literally white like hair). His friend and aide, Cha Sukgyung, realizes that Huibaek has extraordinary physical body and senses. He wants to make Huibaek into Sung-ah's aide.
Due to an incident, Sung-ah and Huibaek gets separated for 10 years. That incident gave Sung-ah a permanent damage to his thigh, so he can't be a lieutenant in the air force anymore. He also thinks that Huibaek is dead. On the other hand, Huibaek lives 10 years feeling betrayed by his beloved person, Ye Sung-ah. 10 years ago, he got rescue by the anti-government organization. Several years after they got separated, he had to go on a several big surgery because his injuries were severe. Due to the incident, his lost his original voice and got a very husky voice, and his hair turned into black.
After 10 years of separation they finally meet, but Huibaek wasn't Huibaek that Sung-ah knew. In the anti-government group, Huibaek was called Hyun not Huibaek. (Hyun means black)
There were some misunderstanding going on with Huibaek and Sung-ah, so they got separated for 10 years. For 10 years Sung-ah spent most of the time treating his thigh, and Huibaek spent most of his time with the anti-government organization. Later the misunderstanding gets solved and.... hehehe
Huibaek is like a duckling just hatched and imprinted on Sung-ah. He only had Sung-ah in his life, but that incident changed him...
